Gym-tastic! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥 Posted @withrepost • @mdotdotdot Who would’ve thought that over 20 years after graduating I’d be back at my alma mater helping to design a brand new strength & conditioning room?? Certainly not me, but it happened, and what an honor it’s been. It’s been a treat to collaborate with my former phys ed teacher Dave Wright & many others @lasallerams on this project. So grateful they trusted @milani.rob & I to head up this job and allowed our @perform_better team to not only design their layout & fill the room from head to toe with our equipment, but also to let our team install everything as well (shout out to Don & all the guys who took part in the hard labor 😬). Anyhow, just proud to play my small part in keeping La Salle the athletic powerhouse that it is 😜 #performbetter #gymgoals

This is how we roll on a Saturday 😎 Posted @withrepost • @fitfocusnh Do you utilize our foam rollers?! We’ve got 6 brand new @perform_better foam rollers upstairs!! . Foam rolling can be SUPER beneficial for improving mobility and flexibility! 🕺🏼Not to mention it helps aid in the recovery process of fatigued muscles by increasing oxygen and blood flow to your muscle tissue🙌🏼 . Paired with dynamic stretching before work outs or static stretching after workouts it is the perfect recovery tool! Give these foam rolling exercises a try for :30 seconds each! 😊💯 1️⃣Back! Support your head and neck with your hands. 2️⃣Lats! Keeping your core tight extend one arm up to hit your lats. If you find a tender spot, stop and hold for 3 counts with deep breaths) 3️⃣Quads! In a plank position keeping your core tight and roll up and down your quads (turn to one side to hit your IT band 🥵) 4️⃣Shoulder mobility! Lying vertical on the roller with your head supported, bring your arms to 90° and slowly raise to a Y position.

Great stuff on 🔥 ANTERIOR CORE STRENGTH 🔥 from @manaperformancetherapy Many athletes who come see us for a variety of issues will have a tendency to default to a more overarched or extended low back. While that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, we try and cue them and have them engage some of the muscles around the spine to help resist that overextended position to reduce the likelihood the back will be problematic. The muscles of your anterior core (abdominals, obliques) help resist that overextended position, and while many think they’re used to flex the spine, they do so much more as they help resist motion and transfer force to be able to perform better. Try these to help fire up those muscles! _____________________________________________ 🔹Crawl To Tall Plank Walkouts - these are much more difficult than meets the eye. Try and walk your hands out so that they are above shoulder height and be really aware of not arching your back as you do so. _____________________________________________ 🔹 TRX fallouts - same concept here, as you bring your arms overhead keep stomach braced, glutes squeezed and resist that feeling like your back wants to arch. _____________________________________________ 🔹 Dumbbell Pullovers - keep low back pressed into the ground and maintain that position as you bring weight toward the ground. _____________________________________________ 🔹 Goblet Box Squat - not everything has to be directly solely on specific exercises for the anterior core. The Goblet Hold during the squat helps emphasize tension through the anterior core and the box we use to prevent the overextended position at the bottom. _____________________________________________ Do you know someone who’s going through low backhip issues and needs more guidance and challenge than what they’re currently getting?! Whether it’s in person or through our online programming, tag them or have them reach out to us so we can help! _____________________________________________ ▪️Helping athletes and active individuals for sport & life _____________________________________________ 💻 http:manaperformancetherapy.com 📩 [email protected]manaperformancetherapy.com 📱 ‪(585) 364-1586‬

👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼@jasonglasslab The best way to find inspiration is to inspire others and reflect their inspiration on to yourself. When you help others you are in an essence helping yourself. The script we give others is a reflection of the self we want to be. I am not saying that this should be your purpose for helping others but if you open yourself up to opportunity to learn from those you coach or interact with you may just become inspired yourself. Have you ever found yourself giving a close friend advice about their marriage and gleamed insight into your own relationship. If you think your advice is so valid for them, why don’t you take your own advice in your own affairs. I just completed my 7th Annual Coach Glass Mentorship and my Inspiration Cup runneth over! I had to get my thoughts on wax so this episode is a special one. I hope you get some inspiration form my words and they inspire you to inspire others. https:www.jasonglassperformancelab.com20190911cgp-ep305-inspiration

🔛💫Had to share! Thanks @achievefitnessboston WHAT PEOPLE THINK I DO AT THE GYM... - What’s up, Achievers?! @jasonlpak here and I wanted to talk about a common misconception in regards to enhancing your fitness levels. There is this trend on social media where “flashier” exercises, flows, and skills are being put on display - really to generate more likes and interest. It seems as though each video seems to be more ridiculous than the last, and these “experts” are getting to a point where they’re either wearing costumes or barely any clothing at all and doing backflips, deadlifting a ludicrous amount of weight, doing parkour type transitions in between sets, crazy “flows” and plyometrics, showing off feats of strength in public, etc. - While this is all amazing and super cool to see what the human body is actually capable of, some of you might be feeling as though fitness is more unapproachable than ever. There’s this feeling of, “I’ll never be able to do that so why should I even bother starting?!” - The reality of the matter is, all of these “experts” and impressive movers got to where they were by sound, solid, progressively challenging training. Because they’ve built up their strength and fitness levels after years of bodybuildingCrossFitgymnasticspowerliftingcalisthenicsetc. they can now access these skills and put them on display on social media. But they didn’t use these advanced skills to get there in the first place! - Getting to this point requires a whole lot of “unflashy”, “unsexy” dedicated time, practice, energy, and mindfulness. The workouts we do ourselves and prescribe to our members are the basics - squatting, deadlifting, lunging, pushing, pulling, etc all with ample rest and an emphasis on very slow and steady progress. This makes the process a lot more approachable and enjoyable! - No one got to the NBA by doing fancy tricks like the Harlem Globetrotters or the And1 Mixtape tour - it was all about mastering the basics and putting more time and energy in those than anyone else (and the right genetics!). - So, hopefully this post sheds a little light onto why you might be seeing fitness be represented in this way! Until

Reconnecting from the ground up⬆️⬆️⬆️@jessicabento_mpt One of the biggest issues I see with patients is a disconnect from the ground up. While being barefoot 🦶 is a good start, the truth is how we use our feet during movement is more important. . These #loadedcarries are probably a better representation of learning how to control the pelvis and gaining the #corestrength that many THINK they are getting when they perform such exercises normally. The BIG difference is that you really can’t cheat with these progressions and you learn how to create stability from the ground up. . Adding #kettlebells and Ultimate #Sandbags isn’t about just loading the pattern here but creating greater connection to #corestability and learning how to navigate all 3 planes of motions. . You can use these as part of a #warmup or a great way to challenge yourself at the end of a #workout . Aim for 5-6 “down and backs” and slowly build up to 10. The more you slow down and focus on integrating your body the more effective the exercise becomes!

👏🏻Just another reason why attending seminars are cool—😎 Register for Speaker School by clicking on our profile link ☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻Posted @withrepost • @vgabriele71 Truly honored to have the legendary @thomas_plummer_ write the forward for my sales book I presented with Tom at 3 of the @perform_better summits and attended his talk each time The material was the same but seeing how Tom presents and how much he relates everything he says to the people in the seats is inspiring. Getting better at public speaking is continually watching people who are great at it and Plummer is one of the greats. I’d highly recommend his #nationalfitnessbusinessalliance seminars he does through perform better.
