9 miles down....... I almost didn’t run today. I was supposed to meet a friend and run the canyon in the morning. But it was a downpour so we decided not to go. . I kept thinking about how cold I was and just didn’t “feel” like going. Then I got a message from my friend sharing about her run, how beautiful it was and then I was like, “Ok, I’m going!” And I’m sooooo glad I did! I couldn’t help but feel so much gratitude seeing the beauty all around me. Being outdoors is my happy place, it’s where I feel the most at peace and at home. And the weather actually felt great! . Since ending my cut 3 weeks ago, I’ve been slowly incorporating more calories (~50cals per week, but I’ll be honest in the fact that I’ve definitely gone a little bit over that more days than not!). ⁣⁣🍓🥞🥗🍭⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Reason being is that I care more able feeling satisfied than I do about possibly gaining a little more fat at a quicker rate - the slower you add calories back in after a cut, the less fat you’re likely to store.⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ That’s essentially what you need to decide when doing a reverse diet - what is your main goal? ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Option 1 ➡️ Adding a higher amount of calories back in quicker. This gets your metabolism back to ‘normal’ faster, allows you to get out of the ‘dieting mindset’ sooner, and allows you to have more energy. This also means gaining weight faster, and being more prone to having that weight be stored as fat. ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Option 2 ➡️ Adding calories back in at a slower rate. This brings your metabolism back to ‘normal’ slower, and will have you gain weight at a slower rate. This means that you will be able to minimize fat storage. ⁣ ⁣ If a reverse diet is something you’re interested in learning about, let me know and I can do a more in depth post about it.
